"LaHoe" (lay hoe) is Hello in Cantonese.
It is hard to believe two weeks have gone by since I last posted on the blog. A lot has happened. Andrew was sick with a fever around 100 or so for 4 days straight (Friday, 18th - Monday evening, 21st). He is fully recovered and back at full strength. We have visited the History Museum, the Science museum again, another hiking trail, one of Mark's co-workers' homes for dinner, a new area in a local park that is like a castle, made some new friends, gone to Ocean Park (which is like Sea World), brought people to church, and celebrated Mark's 36th birthday. I will explain more under each picture.
Kaylin, Andrew, and Lindsey are posing as Chinese at the History Museum of Hong Kong.
Traditional Chinese New Year Dragon dance and costumes.
Mirror fun at the Science Museum
Lindsey and Andrew's heads on a plate by way of mirror illusion.
Hiking another part of the Mac Lehose trail. This is the highest peak in Hong Kong behind us.
Lucy and the kids at Sean and Jackie's house with their English Mastiff dog, Siloh (which means little brother). Their other little Pomeranian dog is named LimeWi (which means big sister).
This is Sean and Jackie Tan. They took us for a hike and served us a wonderful meal at their lovely home.
On Saturday, April 2nd we went to Ocean Park for the day. We had a blast.
They had many unique and beautiful plant sculptures around the park.
Kaylin loved going on the roller coasters. She was able to go on all but two because of her height.
We got to see Panda Bears! This one was chowing down on some leaves.
Ocean Park has one of the most amazing aquariums I've ever seen. They had many unique fish as well. I think this fish looks like tweety bird.
Many different kinds of Starfish in a tank that we were able to reach in and touch.
More amazing coral views.
DahDunt, DahDunt, DahDunt Thinks Jaws theme song and you'll guess what this big guy is.
Happy Birthday Mark. We had a nice dinner of Broccoli Chicken Alfredo, with Pineapple Up-side down cake (with blueberries instead of cherries), and Dreyer's Ice Cream (Knock off of Breyer's I guess).
We were able to capture Mark's expression when we surprised him by making the trip to his work. We went to lunch with some of his co-workers as well for a Dim Sum style lunch.
Lindsey is chewing raw Jellyfish in this picture. It is fairly tasteless, but a little more chewy than a tire.
This is what Jellyfish looks like when brought to the table decorated by cucumber, tomato, and sauce.
Yes, I tried Chicken Feet with Abalone Sauce. In my opinion, it taste better than the Jellyfish (if you can get past the mental part of it).
Lindsey showing us the Chicken foot (toe) in her mouth. She wants Mr. Scott, her Sunday School teacher in the US, to know she has definitely tried some weird foods now.
Andrew asked to try the chicken foot. He just dug right in.
Kaylin wasn't crazy about trying either one, but given the option, she chose to taste the Jellyfish (a very small nibble).
"HiChiGin" (with a hard "g" sound) is "see you next time" (or good bye) in Cantonese.
